With social media taking over alot of things and breaking relationships, its often times to advisable to keep thing private until the perfect time to announce, but this is subjective.

YOU AVOID THIRD PARTY IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP
Opening up your relationship to social media at an early stage can affect the relationship in more ways than you can imagine. People are quick to judge your relationship via social media and put ideas are non-existent in your mind. To avoid jobless people trolling your relationship, keep it off social media.

YOUR EX BECOMES A DETECTIVE
Internet/computer nerds know there are several ways to find your stalkers on the internet. I did one of this only to find an ex topping the list. Here's what I am driving at, while showing off your new relationship might seem like a good thing to do to an ex, its also not the best as the ex becomes more jealous and quickly a stalker. Feeding your ex intentionally with jealousy is not good for you or the ex either.

BREAKING UP WILL BE EASY
We all know that couple that have announced their relationship on social media, things went bad and they had to explain what happened and why they deleted pictures.
I am not saying you should start your relationship thinking things might go bad, its just you being safe. If you do not have 2001 pictures on the internet, when you move on , you do not owe anyone an explanation.

YOU CAN BE HAPPY
Happiness is subjective, but when you don't feel pressure or the need to update people on social media about your life and your relationship then there is a form of fulfillment. People are constantly living their lives through the internet, trying to show that they are happy even if they are not but with one last thing out of the way ( your relationship) you can be happy and live life on your own terms.
