As a young
teenager in boarding school, I always got really excited about May ‘cos of its
public holidays and many of my school mates had their birthdays in that month
so it was a flexing month for me. Fast forward to 2017, I am excited about
public holidays ‘cos its my day off work and school and I can relax and have fun while I am at it
As a Lagos babe! , public holiday to me means chilling and day out with family/friends. In my next post, I'll be sharing with you awesome
things to do on a public holiday.Over to the list of awesome
places to visit on a public holiday.
1.
TAKWA
BAY
if you haven’t heard about this place, where have you been? Takwar bay is
a tourist attraction in Lagos, a peacful and clean beach getaway location. One
of the unique things about Takwar bay is you have to take a boat ride to get
there. In my opinion that is where the fun begins. It is on my list of places
to visit this year though.
2.
COCONUT BEACH, BADAGRY
Public holidays are about relaxing and chilling. The reason why
I chose this beach and Takwar bay is the unique and peaceful feel of these
locations. As a young child I visited the coconut beach and it was amazing.
Badagry is at the border of Lagos, so you’ll have to plan a trip to Badagry but
trust me when I say it is worth it. While you are out there buy their cheap
pineapples too and if you can get your hair braided, they are amazing with
braids.
3.
THE NATIONAL MUSEUM
As a country and as a people we have rich cultural heritage
and history. Take out time to visit the museum, appreciate beautiful art and
connect with it. A lot of us are consumed by social media that we don’t know
our history. Plan a trip with your friends to the National Museum and find
inspiration.
4.
WHISPERING PALMS
: Have you ever been in a place and your soul, spirit body and
soul felt at peace? If the answer is no then you need to visit this place.
After the struggle, hustle and bustle of crazy Lagos especially for people like
me that shuffle danfo buses, whispering palms is a unique place to relax and
appreciate the scenery of Lagos like never before.
5.
SHAUNZ BAR AND LOUNGE
The reason why this is on the list is ‘cos of
their karaoke bar. Time out with your friends just got better. The cool thing
about karaoke is while you are singing and having the time of your life, your
friends will either laugh at your for sounding so bad or sing with you for
doing so well. Its the only time you can sound terrible as a singer and people
will give you a standing ovation. Have fun at Shaunz Bar and live life!
6.
ADA'S PANCAKE HUB
The colourful vibrant and open space makes you relax and appreciate
life a little bit more. Pancake hub connects you with nature and shows you the
peaceful side of Lagos. It is located in a very serene area in Jibow, Yaba and
is amazing for reading and finding inspiration. Don’t even get me started with
the food and quality customer service.
7.
LUFASI PARK
Lufasi park is an awesome forest reserve located in Lagos. Its a
conservation initiative in partnership with the Lagos state government that
connects you to nature. Animals here are allowed to move around freely and you
as a visitor can see them. If you are a family person then Lufasi park is
definitely for you as they have play grounds for children.Check out their website -http://www.lufasi.com/

Lekki conservation is a nature park with so much potentials. It prides it self for having the longest canopy walk in African and this is
something to look out for .It features nature walks, tree house, animals on
sight among many more things. It is calm and serene place for the perfect
