THE LEADERSHIP& MENTORING PROGRAMME YOU NEED TO ATTEND

CVL (Centre for Values in Leadership) is a social enterprise and a non-governmental organization founded by Prof. Pat Utomi in 2004. CVL programs are focused on developing youth leadership capacity and economic empowerment through various youth leadership and development programs - values transmission, vocational training, entrepreneurship skills and employability skills enhancement, business/agro-business development, mentoring programs, and access to finance.
CVL (Centre for Values in Leadership) is now leading a new strategic partnership with the aim of improving access and enhancing quality of higher education in Nigeria through the CVL Higher education leadership and mentoring program called (CVL-HELP). At this initial stage, CVL-HELP is being piloted at the university of Lagos, soon to be followed by the university of Ibadan and four other universities across the six geopolitical zones in Nigeria, and will eventually be implemented in every other university and most higher education institution across Nigeria.
The CVL Higher Education Leadership Mentoring Program (CVL-HELP) it is a strategic partnership program aimed at enhancing the quality of higher in Nigeria. The program focuses on developing undergraduate leadership potentials employability skills enhancement, entrepreneurship skills training and other values transmission activities that will improve the technical quality and competitiveness of Nigerian university graduates in the labor market.
Project Activities;
The following activities are strongly pursued to enhance the entrepreneurship and employability skills of university graduate upon graduation;
1. Mentoring sessions (Role Model Forum); 2000 students
2. Vocational / career boot camps; 100 students
3. Entrepreneurship skills training; 100 students
4. Employability skills enhancement program; 200-300—final year students
5. Internship/ volunteering with companies; 100 students
6. Job-shadowing/ apprenticeship with companies;100 students
7. Workshops on business development/ Agro-processing; 200-300 students
8. Technical exchange programs; 25-50 students.
9. Exchange renewable energy and education support (ERESS) system
ERESS provides free educational and low cost digital technologies which significantly lowers the cost of education.
The CVL-HELP project will serve as finishing school for beneficiary’s work-place role in future, and will ensure follow-up the beneficiaries upon graduation, to enable them gain access to federal government and other post-NYSC intervention funds for business startup ventures. CVL-HELP will start with the University of Lagos, University of Ibadan and four other university in its pilot phase and will be implemented in every other university and higher education institute in Nigeria.
