PHONE PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW

Photography for bloggers is very vital. If you are a DSLR user you might find it a little bulky and tiring to carry your gear around with you.In this week's "blogging with Damie" post, I want to share with you tips on how to get the best use out of your phone camera.

1.

CLEAN YOUR LENS.

I can't over emphasize the importance of cleaning your lens. Your phone is everywhere, you drop it everywhere hence it picking up dust. A dirty lens will lead to bad looking pictures and also it will block out adequate exposure.Take out time to clean your lens, its important.

FOCUS

I explained in this post, the importance of seating your focus. It sharpens your subject and makes it stand out. As a fashion blogger trying to get an outfit shot, set your focus its important plus who doesn't like the blur background effect(dept of field) I know I do.

PLAY WITH EXPOSURE

Exposure on an android phone is as easy as tapping your screen and dragging up or down. I love rightly exposed pictures as they look pretty. Like I said in this post, a rightly exposed picture saves you one step in editing (time saving tip)

KEEP YOUR PHONE STEADY

Even as a photographer handling DSLR's I have learnt the importance of having a steady hand. If you want clear chrisp pictures, you need to have a steady hand. Slight movement in your camera will lead to a a blurry picture.

USE RULE OF THIRDS
Personally, rule of thirds is one of my favs. forms of composition as it look like you put  in so much effort into the picture. Take out time to read all about rule of thirds if you don't understand it and you'll be glad you did.

TRY DIFFERENT ANGLES
Pictures might not look as good from a certain angle so you need to try different angles. You can try taking from a lower angle or higher angle.

7.
BACKGROUND IS KEY
Look out for distracting backgrounds as they take away elements from the picture and also overshadow the subject. For fashion bloggers, a safe way to go is to stand in front of walls.

8.
TAKE MANY SHOTS
This is a tip that is widely known, take multiple shots from different angles so you can have a lot to work on. Also take shots from different angles, try different exposure levels and you should be fine.
